Rocky Neck Now: Stop/Look 2021
Online Exhibition Curator: Meredith Anderson
STOP / LOOK — The Annual Members Show Goes Virtual
In a “normal” year, Rocky Neck Art Colony members would deliver their artwork to the Cultural Center for inclusion in its annual non-juried members exhibition. With artwork of all sorts co-mingling on the walls and across the floor to fill the space, the lively variety would showcase the diversity of art that members of this group had lately been creating. This year however, due to the continuing limitations on in-person events, the annual RNAC members show required a different approach.
The exhibition committee, recognizing that setting up an online exhibition of this scope was more than they would be able to manage, asked if I would be interested in “curating” the show. When the submission deadline closed, some 80 artists had submitted up to three images for consideration.
The show is presented in two parts and every artist has one work in the show. Part One will be open from February 8 – March 21 and Part Two from March 22 – April 30.
